More Use, More Joy! - do good adventures

More Use, More Joy!

We are excited to announce that we have started a candle refill program!

 **limited edition vessels only**

Does the ritual of burning a candle bring you joy? Do you feel conflicted when your candle has finished its final burn and you don’t know what to do with your vessel? You can either toss it, try to repurpose it, or store all your empty vessels hoping one day you will find a use for it. Here at do good adventures we have heard all your frustrations and we have been working hard to create a refill program to support sustainability, actively reduce waste and hopefully alleviate any stress you're having trying to find a purpose for your newly empty vessel. This is phase one of our refill program; we want to be able to offer something for those of you who have any of our limited edition candles. We will continue to work towards improvements to our program as the year progresses, so please be patient and look for updates as we find what works best for our company and customers.

The information below is intended to serve as a resource for

  1. How to clean your finished candle
  2. How to pack your vessels for return successfully
  3. How to return your vessel in person if you live local to Fargo, ND

Cleaning your Vessel:

Option 1: Boiling Water

Once you are done burning the last bit of your candle, there will be a small layer of wax at the bottom that will need to be removed. One way to clean out your vessel is simply by pouring boiling water (even hot water will work). Wait for the water to cool, the wax to harden and float to the top. You will then be able to remove the wax. Remove the wicks at the bottom of the vessel (you can do this by using a spoon to lift up the wick). Use warm soap and water to finish cleaning out the vessel.

Option 2: Freezer

Once you are done burning the last bit of your candle, there will be a small layer of wax at the bottom that will need to be removed. Another way to clean out your vessel is by placing it in the freezer. Your candle will need to sit in the freezer for at least 2-3 hours before removing the wax. Once it is done freezing, the wax will either pop out naturally or will be easily broken up with a butter knife or spoon. Remove the wicks at the bottom of the vessel (you can do this by using a spoon to lift up the wick). Use warm soap and water to finish cleaning out your vessel.

Shipping your Vessel:

Before you ship your vessel, make sure it is completely cleaned out. The wick is removed, the interior is cleaned (no wax or sticky wick residue) and there are no cracks or chips in the vessel.

You can use any box to ship your vessel. The goal is to pack the vessel securely so that the vessel doesn’t move inside the box. We recommend laying a layer of cushion to outline the box, then wrapping a cushion around the vessel to lay inside the box, and finally cover with one last layer of cushion before sealing the box. Once you have packed up the vessel, you can tape up the box and bring it to the post office. You will want to ship your vessel to:

do good
5256 50th Avenue South, Suite A, Fargo, ND. 58104
